Goal

  • To evaluate the strategy, content, pedagogy and implementation of select prominent digital skilling programmes in India to identify the challenges and opportunities that make such programmes ineffective for women.
  • Frame tangible and actionable principles and recommendations to make these programmes gender intentional

Approach

  • Landscape review of digital skilling programmes that target women from low-income backgrounds who possess low levels of literacy and operate primarily in Hindi-speaking states
  • Gender analysis of key components of the selected programmes, such as the programme strategy, content & curriculum, learning approach (pedagogy) and implementation strategy
  • Prototyping sprints for illustrative gender-intentional design principles and recommendations
  • Design and development of a playbook encapsulating the gender analysis framework and principles for integrating gender intentionality in digital skilling programmes in India

  • Integrated Gender Analysis Framework (IGAF) ensures inclusive, equitable, and adaptive programme design
  • Design principles that can guide the strategy, content curation, pedagogy and implementation of future programmes
